On Mindful Pond

On Sept. 11, representatives from local mental health nonprofits will host a free mental health community fair from 9 a.m. to noon at Prestonwood Pond. The event, called On Mindful Pond, will feature numerous booths, entertainment and access to local mental health experts, resources and services. On Mindful Pond is hosted by Something for Kelly Foundation, a nonprofit that advocates for and empowers others to seek treatment for eating disorders, and The Morgan Foundation, an organization fighting to address inequities in the mental health community. The free mental health community fair is free and is available for all ages.

On Mindful Pond will empower the North Texas community to act, address and destigmatize mental health wellness. This event provides an opportunity to educate the public about mental health and how to access treatment in the DFW community. We encourage you to bring your fishing gear, as Prestonwood Pond is spring-fed and stocked with fish!

On Mindful Pond is now welcoming exhibitors. All exhibitors will be invited to attend a VIP dinner on Friday, Sept. 10, which will include Texas barbeque and entertainment by the jazz band Rhythm Addiction. Nonprofit organizations may exhibit free of charge, and for-profit organizations interested in exhibiting are asked to make a modest donation of $500. Those interested in making a donation or exhibiting may email Patti Geolat at PJGeolat@Geolat.com, or visit the Eventbrite page https://onmindfulpondevent2021.eventbrite.com

Sponsors for On Mindful Pond include Prestonwood Pond, Grant Halliburton Foundation and Mental Health America of Greater Dallas. A few of the many scheduled exhibitors include Academy for Eating Disorders, Camp Wonderment, Dallas Meditation Center and Patriot Paws.

We hope to see you there!
