CWJC/Arlington Helps Change Lives

Training for Women Helps in Life As Well As On The Job

My name is Pat Gaultney and I volunteer with the Christian Women’s Job Corps of Greater Arlington (CWJC). Before moving to Arlington 8 years ago, I asked the Lord what He would have me do when I arrived in Arlington. I was not familiar with CWJC, but I was curious about the volunteer opportunities I had heard about at church. In speaking with the Director, I was told that CWJC provides job skills training for women. In addition to computer training, the program offers classes in time management, interviewing skills, resume writing, goal setting and Bible study.

I learned that one of the most important aspects of the CWJC program is the pairing of each participant with an individual Journey Partner (mentor) who comes alongside her participant during the 12 week program, providing encouragement and support – I signed up right away! I am blessed to witness the confidence and self-worth of the participants grow tremendously during their participation in this program. It is a joy for me to serve God in this way and I plan to continue as long as God allows me to do so. Many volunteer opportunities are available at CWJC - please call 817-275-5600 if you would like more information. www.cwjcarlington.org.

CWJC is hosting a Gospel Homecoming Concert and Ice Cream Social on Saturday, 7/22 at Trinity United Methodist Church. All proceeds benefit the CWJC tuition-free job skills program. Please check out the concert advertisement in July’s SENIORific NEWS publication.
