Extended Run Players presents "Rex Dexter of Mars"
*Extended Run Players (ERP) presents “Rex Dexter of Mars,” a staged version of a radio show based on a sci-fi comic book series from the 1930s. *Performances are Friday, November 21, and Saturday, November 22, at 7 p.m. at the Overtime Theater, 4335 Vance Jackson Rd., #103–4, San Antonio, TX 78230. *Tickets are $20. Fifty percent of ticket sales, and any donations, will go to support the theatre arts scholarship fund at the University of the Incarnate Word (UIW). UIW students, faculty, and staff may attend free of charge. *Directed by Susan Brogdon from an original script written by her big brother, Darrell Brogdon, the show lovingly spoofs those great sci-fi movies and stories from the 1940s and ’50s, with a sardonic dose of current political comedy. *ERP is a group of theatre lovers, ranging from seasoned veterans to stage-struck tyros. Founded in 1996 at UIW, the group’s mission is to spread the love of theatre throughout San Antonio and surrounding communities by presenting quality productions of worthy literature in a variety of theatre formats for various community groups at minimal or no cost. *Funds raised by ERP are donated to the UIW theatre arts scholarship fund to support talented undergraduate students. More information about the group can be found at: https://www.uiw.edu/chass/academics/departments/theatre-arts/extended-ru... *As members of ERP like to say, “We have over 1,000 years of experience!”
