Tantalus is tantalizing!!!

A tantalus is a container with decanters of liquors visible, but secured by a lock, always out of reach unless one has the key!!

The play, ‘Tantalus’ is so named because the faithful manager, Korff, has worked for his employer, Richmond, for many years but has never come close to being as wealthy or influential as his boss, and he is a jealous, envious man.

Korff devises a plot to capture the wealth of Richmond by employing Hilde, and thus deceiving Richmond.  Well, does it work?  I’ll leave that to you, you must see this lovely play to find out.

I enjoyed it very much, ‘Tantalus’ has all the elements:  suspicion, deceit, and plot twists galore!!!  And, you may even suspect, yes, the butler, Edwards!  But Lomer, the detective, puts it all right!!

And, I must say, the Small Theatre of the Granville Arts Center is an undiscovered jewel among theatres in this area.  Pentagon-shaped, there is not a bad seat in the house, and it is a lovely environment to enjoy live theatre.

Go see ‘Tantalus’ for yourself, and discover the fun of a live mystery, and laugh at the conclusion!!

The talented cast features Vesta Schneider as Hilde, Jerry Fitzgerald as Edwards, Michael Baker as Korff, Doug Latham as Richmond, and Alex Barbosa as Lomer. The production is directed and designed by Josh Hensley. The stage manager is Kitty Fincher.
